Main Screen — The Globe
 
To choose a decade, return to the Main Screen and either click on a year in the revolving ring, or on the animation above the Globe as it changes through the 1920s to the 1990s.
As you roll over the main screen, certain elements appear: 
Help, Guide and Exit are located behind the BBC logo.

Volume Control

The volume control is located to the right of the Globe on the main screen. Click and drag the control to one of the volume settings.

General Navigation around the CD-ROM

‘Sound On, Vision On’ has been designed for exploration with the mouse. So once you are in a decade, just roll the mouse over the screen to evoke rollover animations and sounds which give a sense of some of the key events of each decade.
There‘s no need to click the mouse until you want to navigate to a deeper level of the programme.
